A low inductance laminated busbar for inverters is specifically tailored to meet the demands of motor drives, solar inverters, and UPS systems. Its design focuses on creating an ultra-low impedance path between the DC-link capacitors and the power switches (IGBTs/MOSFETs), which is the most critical loop for inverter efficiency and reliability.
Optimized DC-Link and Phase Leg Design: We design these busbars with a dedicated, tightly coupled “+” and “-” layer pair for the DC-link, and carefully routed, symmetric phase outputs. The goal is to achieve balanced, minimal inductance in all switching loops to ensure even current sharing between parallel devices and minimize voltage imbalance.
Thermal Interface Integration: Inverters generate significant heat. Our designs often incorporate a flat, machined surface on the busbar that serves as a direct mounting interface for the power module’s baseplate to a heatsink, often with pre-applied thermal interface material. This integrates mechanical mounting, electrical connection, and thermal management into one component.
The inverter’s performance ceiling is often defined by its busbar. Our specialized low inductance laminated busbar for inverters is engineered to push that ceiling higher by providing a clean, low-loss switching environment. This results in cooler operation, higher efficiency, longer component life, and the ability to leverage the full potential of advanced wide-bandgap semiconductors.
